LETTERS FROM MEN AT THE FRONT (IN FRANCE)

Lance-Corp. J.F. DAVIDSON.
Mrs. James Davidson, Hamilton Township has received the following letter from her son, Lance-Corp. J.F. Davidson which was written in France on May 12th, 1918.

Dear Mother:
Just a few lines to say that I am very much alive and feeling fine and I hope you are keeping well. We are having fine weather just now, but are fairly busy at times and we get very tired of soldier life and I hope to be home this year, but you never can tell in a game like this. I often wish we could write what we want to in our letters as there are so many things that you would enjoy reading about, and gather some idea of what we are doing, but the censor says not. I hear from Calgary pretty regular, also from Jesse, so I am not too bad off for letters, but it takes so long to get an answer that you may be in another part of the country when you get it, but our mail comes along very regular, and you bet we can always look forward to a letter from home, and I will say this, that Canada is the best country to me yet. They sure have some wonderful sights to see here but give me the west every time. I guess most all of my friends and interests are in Calgary just now, and do you know the news from there is far more interesting to me as I know so many out there. Well just give all the folks my very best regards and love, and tell them that I will be landing home some day for a visit, With these few lines, I remain your loving son,
FRANK.
