Dear Friend, –

Received your letter a few days ago, it seems to take mail fearfully long to come from Canada I guess its the enormous quantity that is coming this way.

what will your husband say if he saw you were writing to me why a married woman write to an unmarried man come on now explain yourself. is it a case of can’t satisfy surely not.

We have been having it pretty hard since coming here and I expect the battalions will be broken up and sent in drafts as the battalions I came over with have been sending drafts I hope we are fortunate enough to go as a unit.

Have been down to London a few times but have neglected to hunt Harold up. London in war times and London in peace times are two different places in fact there are very little to see there at nights now. Woman is the chief thing its a shame the way they are acting when their husbands are at the front

Have saw a few Zepp raids but nothing further of interest Of course I have been through the tower of London St. Pauls Westminster abbey Madame Tussaud wax works etc these places are very interesting to we Canadians why not join the army and see all these things see high life in London and Paris.

Presume things are very quiet on the coast understand the salmon pack was a complete failure on the Fraser this year

was sorry to hear that Mr. [?] Busay’s son was missing I hope he has been accounted for before this

I am in the Hospital at present have been for two days and am going to have my throat operated on wednesday so expect to be here a week longer then the front for me.

Will draw to a close now and drop a line later I remain

Your

Harry
