My own darling Son.

Every time that Mamma writes to me, she tells me what a great big boy you are growing to be & how well you are getting on at school, this makes daddy feel very proud of you son & I hope you will always be a good boy & learn your lessons & always do what your Mamma tells you, you know that daddy would be very vexed if you did not obey Mamma in all things, because she knows exactly what is the right thing for you to do & it is all for your own good, pay attention to your lessons & to what your teacher tells you & I am sure that when I come home I will find my darling boy to be one of the best boys in the world, love your Mamma & your Sister & take good care of them for your daddys sake & remember that although I am so far away from you I never forget you & that I love you all just the same, Kiss Mamma & Eileen for me son & give them a great big love & with lots of love & kisses for yourself I am always your loving Daddy
