Dear Dad

Am writing this letter in the trenches.  This is the second time we have been in them.  Their trenches are 6 hundred yds. away.  We see a few of them now and again.  They keep pretty low and with the exception of their snipers shooting, everything is quiet now.  I like it fine in here its a darn site more comfortable here than in our billet.  I don’t have much time to write now.  So if you see Goldie give him my love x  to Maude and Irene.
