Dear Wife.

this letter will be kind of late but  that is no fault of mine. blame the old war as usual to the cause. we are in our old city taking a rest away from the seat of our labors at present. I’m sending mother a card of ours we are only allowed a few. I would like to have had more to send but couldn’t. I intend to remember you all if I can this Xmas but that may not be possible now darlings all I leave you Goodnight –God bless & keep you all safe is ever the wish of your ever loving boy
