(Killed July 7, 1917).
"I was billeted with Pte. Steele before going into the trench, and while in support line, I heard Pte. Steele had been killed in the front line by a stray shell. My informant was E.G. Burrows, No. 919093, Pte. 14th Battn Canadians, attd. To Canadian Signallers Corps, he was with Pte. Steele at the time he was killed, he also told me Pte. Steele was buried at Vimy Ridge."
