Letter from Pte. Beswitherick

Mrs. Beswetherick has a letter from Pte. W. Beswetherick from France, dated Oct. 24. He had had two weeks of trench work then. Portions of his letter appear below.

Dear Mother:- Just a few lines in answer to your letter which I received to-day. We are all well, and hope you are all well up North.
We are having some cold weather here just now but having a good time. We just came out of the trenches last night. I saw the biys from the north there, Billy Thomas, Angus McLean, S. Bilow. We met in the trenches yesterday. They were all looking fine and hearty. I am going to try and see Enos Grant some day this week. I heard Capt. Robinson was here and shall try to hunt him up. I also saw Tommy Faught who used to work at the station.
I received the parcel containing the cake. Another fellow from up North and I ate it. Also received the parcel containing the mitts and socks. We are all pretty well supplied now.
Tell Orville I will bring home a riding whip for him.
