My Dear Mother

Another week gone and no letters yet. I am beginning to think perhaps the submarines got the first lot from England.

It was awfully cold the beginning of the week but to-day is like July or August at home. Far too hot I am sitting here with a big fly net around me or I'd be eaten alive.

You probably have my cable by now - at least I hope so.

Got inoculated twice yesterday for cholera & dysentery and in four days am going to have my second dose for typhus.

I wonder if Miss Cormack[?] is sending the usual Xmas boxes this year - very likely I should think. This will be my third. Its hard to realize I've been away from home for four Xmases and this is the second our here. I've certainly travelled a lot since the war started.

Absolutely no news Mother Dear but I like to have a little chat with you. I do hope you are well and are going to leave the home.

Love to the Laverys and all my friends.

Your Loving Son
