Dear Marjorie:
Here it is the 19th and I have not mailed your letter yet. It won't reach you very fast at this rate will it. We are still in the same old place so are getting used to it a bit. Conditions have improved a bit for the battery. We are back in better billets and go up to the guns each day in lorries. The sun does not shine much this weather but we are having very little rain at present things are balanced a bit. Mud is very cheap though. I hear that the boys at home are being called up for examinations and that some of them are not fond of the idea and thoughts for the future. All that I can say is that I am glad I'm already out here even though I have been in France eight or nine months ahead of Conscription. Well I must close now. Good night.
