Dear Friends,

I am writing to thank you for the bed quilts you were kind enough to make & send along for the comfort of the men of the Navy.

They have all been well received & they are a real comfort to us all. You must have all spent many long hours making such quilts & on behalf of the men & myself I thank you all very much indeed. At the moment I am on a short leave but return to my ship late tonight. Again thanking you. Kind regards

Yours sincerely,
John A. Roberts.
