Dear Mrs Polson.

I have seen much of your dear son in Ward 3 of this hospital here & he asked me to drop you a line a few days ago. He has lost his right arm - you will be grievd to hear. But he has otherwise completely recovered & looks as well as can be in bed. We have talked together often as he is in excellent spirits. Last Sunday I was administering the Holy Communion to two other wounded soldiers & as he had expressed his willingness to do the same, he received the Sacrament with them. They were all badly wounded but are quite well now & will be travelling to England very soon and if they did (?) go last evening on the train that left yesterday. This is a fine hospital on the French coast and they get the best of nursing.

Yours sincrely

W.J. Grarell.
