Dear Sister -

Everything is jake on the western front. Spring is here now with the warm sun and green fields. The grain and grass is all growing fine. It seems to make a person want to live and enjoy life all the more.

I assigned $10.00 of my pay to Aunt Birdie for you the other day. I know that you will need it. You can buy a book or two with it anyhow. You were not old enough according to military law to have it assigned direct to you. It is yours to do what you like with, and comes into effect in May. In case of anything happening to me, you benefit, according to my latest will. Marion used to, before the trouble.

I hope you are all still well and happy at home. This leaves me in the best of health, but of course sorry for what happened in P. A. Well I'll close for now and hope to hear from you soon and often -

Yours ever with Love
Don

p.s. I sent a book to you lately. I hope you get it O. K. Don.
