Letter

3rd July 1918.

Mr. W.H. Irving,

We received a letter from Gordon yesterday and at once cabled you through the Irving Umbrella Co. Ltd. which we hope you duly received reading: -

"Gordon well, quiet where he is"

Glad to tell you Gordon writes cheerfully and said there was very little doing in the part where he is, the weather has not been very good - he also expressed the hope of seeing us again before very long and we hope by that he will be soon having leave and be in London again soon.

I received yours and was very pleased to hear you were quite as well in health and very sincerely hope the summer weather may be the means of you gaining further strength and that the next time we hear we hope we may hear you are making good progress.

I can assure you it is a pleasure to do anything for Gordon and you may rest assured that we will endeavour to keep you well posted with any information we get.

Very kind regards,

Yours sincerely

ES Metcalf
