Dear Mother
Just a line to let you know I received your letter. and Iam well hopeing you and John are the same.
I have no time to write you a long letter tonight but will get a chance in a day or two. Tell Aunt M.E. She is crazy saying I have to stay in the army three years. I have to stay here till the war is over. and that all of course the war may last for three years. But God forbid I spend another winter in this country
Well how does Winnipeg look now I would like to write you a good letter but cant. but dont worry about me I am alright. its poor Harry that will have a hard time of it over here
Well I will have to close for now. Write and let me know all the news and remember me to John
I remain your Loven Son
Owen
