Scampton,
Aug 18/17.

Dear Grannie:

How are you getting along? I haven't heard from you very often. Only once I think since I reached London. I wrote to Uncle Will about a week ago. You might ask him whether he received my letter or not. How was the summer at the Park. It doesn't seem as if there has been any summer to me as we are too late for the real summer here and besides it has been broken up so Part at Borden part at the Beach. A week or two on the boat Ten days in London and so on.

I have not been flying here as yet. I think I only need about five hours more before I finish up. Don't send me any more socks for a while as I have all that I can carry around just now and I mustn't have too much stuff because I can't take it all to France. I bought what is known as a Wulesley kit bag the other day £ 3-3 and will roll all my stuff up in it and will leave my trunk here, probably with Mr. Metcalfe. I wrote him the other day in order to tell him my address but have not heard from him yet.

I am enclosing some snaps that were taken on the boat with what[?] are of written on the back. I am sending some more along a little later as soon as I can get them printed. Went to the dentist in Lincoln yesterday to get a hollow tooth fixed up and am going back again in a fortnight or so. Have had my bed the last couple of nights and have plenty of blankets so am all right that way. The steamer rug that I brought along will come in very good later on and so will my dressing gown.
