My dear Sister,

I received your letter P.C. and parcel some time ago. The contents of the parcel was great it was waiting for me when I got back from the line last time, and believe me I enjoyed it, the cake couldent be better. We expect to get a few days rest after being in six days, but we were simply moved to a quiet part of the line. In another few days we'll go back for a much needed rest.

I had a letter from both Alick& John some days ago, but I did'ent get a chance to answer them yet. The scout seem to stick to England pretty good and the're just as well off. But for my part I would sooner be here than on Salisbury Plains. There's all kinds of fellow's here that are dying to get home, but I didn't get that way yet.
