Dear Mother,

Just a line or two to let you know where I am at present. I just got down yesterday and will have 15 days yet before I go back again. I did have an enjoyable time at Sheffield. I visited some that you used to know: Harry Hisawitt and Charles' aunt Lizzie, and they were all pleased to see me. They don't seem to have changed a bit, except of course, they have grown and there is two more in the family; Joan and Olive. They are fine looking little ones. Auntie will have told you all about Olive's soldier; she took a great fancy to me. Winnie is still on the post, and the boys working. It didn't take them long to spot me as I got off the train, and they were all so pleased to see me, and I had a good time also, and went to the theatre. Emmie and Mark saw me off at the train, and I had a good day's ride down here, and they are all well but auntie, and I think she is getting better. Grandma looks as good as ever and is busy as ever too. May and uncle have to go to school, so I have rather a quiet time of it at Sheff., but enjoy myself all the same. Uncle and I are going to Norich on Sat. Well, mother dear, you'll be wishing you could be with me too, but not 'till the war is over, I guess. Katie will be sending you a picture of us all taken in the backyard, if it develops all right. With your Scottie in kilts! But I don't know if it will be all knees or not. Well, mother, I'll be closing now, with best love to you all and hoping this will find you all in the best of health, your loving son,

Frank
