Dear Sister,
I received your letter the other day and was surprised at your address. I suppose you are quite interested in your school. You say you are near Ab[?]. Well that is clos to youngstorm and it is a pretty nice country around there so likely it is s[?]lar where you are I expect you have seen some of those people you know by this time. We doubt they will be surprised to see you. The day I got your letter I got one also from [?]angdon and until to day, when I received two one from Myrtle, I had no mail for about a month. The one I got from Myrtle had a snap of Tania on her pony and it was the one you spoke about being dated June 27. I suppose Laura is real proud of her other horse, the boys here in the tent thought it was great.
This is Sunday afternoon and it has been real nice to day although it has been raining almost steady for over a week. I am attached to a Machine Gun Outfit along with some more of our fellows for a short time. We have a fairly good time we have to do practically nothing during the day time but it is not the same always at night. I don't think we shall be working to-night as we have received no orders yet. [?]ee I have a pain in my chest this evening I guess it must be the dampness as it very seldom bothers me. perhaps I ate too much to day. Two of us bought a can of peaches and ate them. We only paid about 33 [cents] I guess it would be in Canadian Money.
I guess you will notice that yesterday was the end of the 3rd year of the War, so to-day is the first of the fourth. It was not bad while we were up last night, but shortly after we got home there certainly was something doing.
Rolie is not here with me, but one of the fellows was down to the camp and he sent some news up with him. Rolie and I have been thinking again of trying for the R.G.C. They Guy said that Rolie thought chances were good for himself, but that I was too darn fat. Then he took it back and said that Rolie said that he thought it would be possible for both of us, but of course a person cannot be sure of anything at all.
This would be a swell place for a picnic in peace times. The other day I skinned my arm climbing a tree for some cherries, also I lost my cigarette case coming home one night which was a dandy and so outside of that I have fared quite well so I guess that is not bad.
Well I guess that is all I know so will bring this to a close. I hope you like your school and get along alright. When writing use same address as on your last letter, as I still belong at C.L.G. just the same, so good bye hoping this fines you well.
I remain Your Brother,
Hadden

Sis here is a little rose I have never seen one like it before. One of the fellows call it the Moss rose I got it near camp three or four kilos back from the line.
