My Dear Gertrude,

Three letters from you. You had heard I was coming here - Our weather is keeping very fine this week - chilly but enjoyable & warm during the hours of sunshine. Fog all day on Monday - the first I have experienced. I believe they are rather prevalent round here. Rather a nuisance for outdoor work - it prevented us getting out for practical & map work - to-day (it is just after lunch now) we have had a healthy obram cleaning morning on Engineering work in the field - digging & sawing etc.

I enclose Mother last weekend letter. I would not be altogether surprised to hear that Berk has gone to Italy. - Mr Wayte is merely the home Dentist. I am glad to hear that Edgar has been fortunate enought to get an Instructional job - it may also me Christmas leave for him.

4 oclock.

All those usually resident in Canada were called out at the 1-45 parade - re registering for voting at the forth coming election. We only had to give our names in so far - it we have to give a Canadian address (not likely) I will take the liberty of using "Bq" - unless they only want last address.

I enclose another card at the Entrance here - you can just see the turret of the Safeway - over the Church yard wall. The village cobbles & the village hotel behind - on the right.

I must close than & get off to pay parade & then settle to note writing.

Hope all is well.

With best love.

Yours Jack
