Dear Thomas

Was pleased to hear from you & that you are still in England & hope you will be able to spend the Christmas & New Year with them all at Manchester & wish that it had been possible for me to be there. Well still on the improve & expect to see Christmas & New Year here. We had a treat here yesterday 2 concerts being given by Lena Ashwells London concert party in our Dining Hall it holds about two thousands. It is very cold & frosty here beside having had a fall of snow. This Camp is on top of a hill near to the sea & the two French fashionable watering places of Deauville & Trouville where all the Parisian people come for the bathing in the summer but is very quiet at present with the season being over. We are only allowed to go to them on pass & they allow [?] of 16 men in a hut from 4 pm to 9-30. I have been down several times through the week & on Sundays & have had some good walks on the sand & enjoyed the sea breeze. Hoping you are able to get leave & have an enjoyable time this Christmas & New Year.

I remain
Your affectionate brother
Jef
