Dear Mother:-

Just a line to let you know we arrived in Amherst all sound. I am very sorry I did not get home to see you all but I did not know we were going till I was going down to barracks at ten o'clock so I couldn't get out then. Charlie came all the way with us too. I can tell you the bunch came in all right. Well as I have not seen the place yet I have nothing more to say.
