Dear Mother:-

Just a line or two this afternoon as I have nothing else to do. Well we had a pretty nice trip coming across we left Amherst on April 9th. Got to Halifax about 6:00P.M. went on board the transport stayed in port until 6. P.M. on Tuesday. It was pretty rough the first day we were sailing and I was pretty sick but it was only for one day we got to Liverpool on Friday the 19th about 8 P.M. so we didn't go ashore till Saturday. Then we took the rain from there to Farnham where we got off and marched about two miles to our camp where we are in quarantine for ten days when we go to Bramshott. It was pretty rainy here for a day or two but it's a lovely fine day now and every thing is getting nice and dry now.

The spring is quite a lot ahead of the island the grass is nice and green and the grain is up about two inches and the trees are out in leaf and some in blossom.

Well I guess I will close for this time hoping to hear from you soon.

Good Bye

Allan
