Dear Mother

I got give letter & a Parcel all in a bunch today, I was pleased to get them. the Parcel was the one with the cake & tongus in it.

We have been reorganized so in future you had better address all my mail to the following address. the same reg No & the rest is. D. Company. 1st. CM.R. Batt. Army Post office London. We are Infantry now, it will be much harder being Infantry in the Trenches than it was cavalry I hope that you all will have a Happy & Prosperous new year.

I hope to be able to come Home for a few days in another month or so all being well.

Give my love to them all at Home, I wish I could have been with you at Xmas but maybe by next Xmas I shall have done my bit & be back Home
