My Dear Betty:

Just a few lines along with enclosed views of Crystal Palace which I have had the pleasure of visiting it is indeed a beautiful place - I will be able to tell you all about these places, when I return, which God grant may be soon.

Am spending a delightful time here, every afternoon being free to visit some place of interest in London - This afternoon I expect to be going to the Zoological Gardens - Oh, if I could only have you & the kiddies with me - wouldn't they be delighted? Next Saturday I am hoping to visit the Houses of Parliament - Yesterday Sunday - I was asked to take the service here & everyone seemed delighted & I rather think that I shall be doing that during my stay here. In the afternoon I went to Christ Church, Westminster wher F.B.Myer is pastor, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Myer & he invited me to tea & stay to evening service, which invitation I of course accepted, it was a great honor at the evening service I met [?] M.S. Raike of Wpg who attends Myer's church & also made several other friends who have invited me to their homes so from henceforth I shall have lots of friends in London. This is a great experience & education I am getting, if only you could share it with me. I have also received a very kind & pressing invitation from Lady Tollemacke to spend my leave at her beautiful Suffolk home, it is an old English Castle, with armour drawbridge & moat - deer in the park etc. etc & right by the sea. I hope to spend the first few days of my leave there so shall be able to tell you about it & I shall be sending you her letter along sometime. I am certainly being blessed with the kindest of friends over here in England, & I am seeing etc, just the things I always longed to see - it is now two months sence I was wounded, & my leg wounds are still being dressed - they closed for a while & then opened slightly - having closed too soon, but they are doing fine & there is no cause for the slightest worry.

They are having quite a number of air raid on London these days - another yesterday afternoon (while I was in church) but we boys from France don't worry about them it is pitiful however to see the crowds of women of the poorer districts going at night with their little children to spend the night in the Underground Railway Stations. The people in Canada can't realize anything of the horrors of war. The very best of love dear heart to yourself & kiddies. God bless & keep you.

Yours lovingly Daddy
Will
