Dear Doris,

Only time for a very few lines to-day as I have to write to mother, as I havn't written home for about two weeks. Also I havn't written to Alex since I left Port Alberni, when I was there on New Years leave. I have just written to father at Erith.

I had a very nice time when I was at Malvern and Ocle. I want you to tell grandma that I really enjoyed my stay there very much. I told her myself but she might think I was just trying to be polite.

I had a very nice time at Ocle, and everybody there thinks quite a bit of me, as least that's what someone told me in a letter from there.

I got a fine box of home made candy from Pt Alberni, also some Bull Durham tobacco, which sure helped some, especially the tobacco. I havn't seen any here yet that suits me at all.

We have had lovely weather here since I arrived back, but it has been raining off and on this morning, and I am afraid we are in for some more mud. We are duty Batt'n again tomorrow for a week, so the rain would be most disagreeable to those on picquet and guard. Remember me to the Miss Pipers and to Aunt Frances, and my little cousins if they are still at Joy House. Well Doris good bye for a couple of days. Your Loving Brother
