Dear Mother:

We have come in from a long route march and I feel pretty tired but decided to write to you any way now that I have the chance I will write as often as possible. Yesterday I wrote to Aunt E. and Aunt Blanche and before that to Violet and Grace so have had quite a lot of writing lately. To-night when I got in I found Violet's letter waiting for me it was posted on the 15th of Dec. I was hoping there would be a box to-night but guess it will come to-morrow or next day. Last night the snap book came it is very interesting. On the march to-day we passed through a couple of large mining towns and it did look good to see some trains running to and for like at home. Have not received that box from Uncle Jack or Lena yet. I think they did not have them addressed properly so suppose I will lose them which will be too bad. And also that one from the Institute. Be sure and put B. coy. on them and don't put any Brigade or division. Aunt Blanche had hers addressed to 6th Brigade and it's a wonder I got it as that is all wrong. Did you receive the badge I sent and before Christmas. I hope so. This will be all this time mother dear. Love at all at home.

Your loving son
Jay
