Dear Mother:

Last night we received a big mail so I must write and tell you about my share of it. Two boxes and two letters. The one box had biscuits and those patent soups which I have not tried yet also tin cans of heat. The other box had Campbells soup which I like very much and would sooner have them than the others. One of the letters was from you the other from Grace, Elsie & Jessie. I am so glad you had such a happy Christmas and New Years. Grace tells me in her letter that you have received the little 1st Batt badge. I almost gave up hope of it reaching you. You should have had it before Christmas but better late than never. Before I forget I must tell you that I have got that parcel with the razor and powder and [?]. Tell Uncle Dan I thank him very much for the razor and also Aunt B. Tell Elsie she used some pretty big words in her letter but this one has got me stopped (philpeaned) but just the same it was a very nice letter, so was Jessie's. In Grace's letter she sent several pictures but I don't see any of the baby. The new house looks very nice. Well I must close now. Lots of love to you Mother dear & all the rest at home.

Your loving son.
