Dear Mother:

Just a short letter to let you know that I am still well. I haven't had any parcel since the last one which was posted on July 31st I only wish I could get one every week. A few days ago I had a post card B. mailed in Buffalo. She said she would send me a parcel by the next mail. I wrote her while in London. Major Aylsworth got my check cashed in Folkstone for me I got 2 pounds 9 pence for it more than I expected. To-day we had an inspection of old clothes to see who needed to be fitted out with new ones I am getting a pair of boots. Tomorrow we are going trench digging and will cook our own dinner. I received Bruce's letter with the snaps they were very nice. And I wish you would send me one of yours as I have lost those others that you gave me. This will be all this time will write again this week. Be sure and send lots of boxes and letters as it certainly is good to hear the mail call go and run out and find a box or two. I got Violet's socks too they are swell.

Your loving son.
