France, Dec. 16 /17

My dear Grannie:

I received two more letters from Fern this morning, numbers 31 & 32. I expect the boxes along in a couple of days. Haven't got anything to write about but we are having our first snow and that means no more flying to-day. I was up this morning but there was very little doing.

We had a visit from the Gothas a few days ago. They tried to lay a few eggs on our ‘drome but they had no luck. Three of us started up after them but I ran into another chap and he ran into me so didn't get very far. Smashed both machines up pretty well but they are fixed up again. Nobody hurt.

You need not send my letters to Mr Metcalf, but can address them straight to me here - 19 Sqd. R.F.C. B.E.F. France will get me anything important, as boxes had better go through Mr M.

I have often heard K speak of Bernice McClintock. Her brother arrived here about a week ago.

I think this about finishes all the news I have for the present.

Take care of yourself,
Gord
