My Dear Father.

This is to let you know that I have been wounded in the head and right arm so am unable to write myself. I have been sent to the Base hospital and the next move will be England which I hope will not be long.

I am not too bad though my head is very sore. I am being well looked after so you must not worry for me Please send a line to Miss Shaw & let her know there is nothing serious the matter with me. & I saw George the Sunday before I got wounded He was fine then.
