Dear Mother:

Just a line before parade to let you know that I am all OK. Wrote about a week ago. Since then we have had no Canadian mail but are expecting one today. Have not much news. We are having a very good time of it. Not working very hard and feeding up. Were practicing on the signal lamp all morning and will be doing the same this afternoon. We expect to go back up the line again on the third and will write a long letter when we get back and settled in our little home. It is hard to write here as everyone is talking and one cannot keep one's mind on what one is saying. We are having ideal weather. The last few days have been colder with a heavy white frost each night but one does not mind that
so long as it is fine and one is clear our rain and mud.

Now I must say au revoir as it is parade time. Will write you again in a few days

Love to all, Harold
