Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know how things are down here. We are supposed to leave here next Monday and Mr Thompson asked me to find out for sure if Gordon could come with us. I hope he can because I beleive the sea trip would build him up as quick as anything. We have just been issued all our new outfits so that we are ready to go at an hours notice. I told you we were going to get more winter and we sure are getting it down here. Things are just about the same her you know the usual thing Dancer, Smokers and theatres and a general good time we are the Rag time army. How is Gordon getting on. tell him I had a letter from Bill Waite in the trenches and he wished to be remembered to him. He says that nearly all the Battleford boys are together again over there. On Monday the Old Man sent all the Battalion out recuiting and we got [?] men past the doctor. There is nothing more to say just now except that all the Boys in 13 platoon were asking about Gordon. Well Good by for the present. Love to all.

I Remain Your English Son.
