I beg to acknowledge receipt of your generous gift of socks recently sent to this unit.

These were put to good use after their arrival, as the boys were badly in need of them. The assorted sizes made it possible for every man to get his right fit, much to his satisfaction. The excellent quality of the wool was more than appreciated.

Please accept on behalf of the boys of the Battery my heartiest thanks for your kindness in looking after us in such a practical manner.
