My Dear Bill:

I don't know if I'm going to be able to find enough to say to make this a letter, but I'll try.

I was at the Hays', at the Island, for dinner Monday night. They have a nice place over there. Dorothy and I went for a walk down to the main drag, after dinner, and I met an old friend of yours, Charlie Singer. He said he had written to you but hadn't had an answer yet. I suppose by the time you get this you will have written to him.

Beverly was quite thrilled about the letter she received from Jean Clarke. It was a very nice letter too. I didn't tell you but Kaye and I are going to New York on August 1st until the 6th. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. We'll probably melt all the time we're there, but I think it's worth it, and I know you'll agree with me.

All the girls at the "morgue" are going on holidays in July (including Mr. Baldwin) so W.G. and I will be there all alone for a month.

I had my hair cut the other night and I feel like a skinned rabbit, but it's wonderful in the warm weather.

How are all the fellows? When are they going to let you make the trip across the pond. I guess it'll be after all the rest of the Squadrons have come home.

Kaye and Mom send their regards. Give my very best wishes to the Clarkes.

Love Hilda

P.S. I hope you'll forgive my letter writing Darling but there's nothing to tell you. It's just the same old routine every day, nothing new.
