Letter

Morning makes me feel heavy and doopy and my arm is getting pretty sore. I kind of expected a letter to day but have not got one yet, but I guess it will be along soon. I do not know how long it takes for a letter to come and go from here yet. We are up at 6.30 and drill and take a nice little run, also exercises, which gives us a good appetite for what little we have to eat. Wrote a short letter to Irene on Sunday just to see what she will have to say. She seemed to be quite put up when I left, as she came up to me and wanted to know what was wrong with me for not taking notice of her, and the way she held my hand I knew that she still has a soft spot for me and made me promise that I would write of which I did but I suppose she will be getting and sending letters to the boys. Most of the boys wanted me to write but they can get my address from somewhere and drop me a few lines first for if I started writing to them all I would never get through. See if you can get than $10 from Uncle Will and let me know at once for if I cannot get that I will have to get some other way as it is only a week till that note is due and I cannot let it go now if I can possibly help it. Tell tots that Uncle Dick said he was going to send him a little money soon to help him out, but I do not know when. I wish you could get that $1386 somewhere and send it to the company at Saskatoon as I do not know when we will get paid. If you could get it from some of the boys [?] of get that from the office and I think you could get the balance some where. Be sure and put in a few cents for interest but I do not know what it will be. The boys sure have a good word for the old town and if they were come through I am sure you will see them back again. All of us in Wiliams have to have a pass from now on to go into the other lines as there have been a few running around which do not belong to it. We can get down to Brendon for $1.50 return by busses if we can get a pass! Tell Irene to be sure and write me a letter anyway and I will answer them. I guess the town is pretty quiet now since the boys left and I think you will see some of them back on July 1st if they can get passes. Hoping you are all well and have got over that day of departure and still live in hope of meeting some day in the near future

With love to all from

Yours loving son

Gordon
