Dear Mother

We landed at Sewell on Friday about 3.30 and so far we are all mixed up. Bill May, Tucker & me are all the town boys in our tent, we are all under new officers already. We were dividid into [?] fifteens and attached to what they call platoons, but we are all in the same battalion, already [?] is about 1300 men of the 53rd in camp now. We are the only infantry camp here. There are a big bunch of calvlry here with there horses already. There are fifteen of us with the Prince Albert bunch and the sure are a sloppy bunch of fellows, but we will get along alright I think. I don't think there is much more to say just now as we do not hardly know what we will be doing yet. The only fellow that I know from P.A.is young Sullivan so far. As far as I know our address is

14th Platoon
P. Company
53rd Battalion
C.E.7
