Dear Kiddo

I write these few lines hoping to find you all well as it leaves me at present I got quite a surprise yesterday when I received three letters from home, one from Edith and two from yourself, I was very glad to hear that the children were better, I shall not fell so worried now that I know you are all well, it must have been very trying to have them both with the whooping cough, at the same time, especially during the hot weather, poor little kiddies, I would like to send them something from here, but we are not allowed to send things, but never mind wait till I am coming home, then I will bring something with me, you said in your letter that you had send a letter, but as yet, I have not received it, which is to bad because I have been expecting all along, but still I may possible still get it yet, I will let you know if I do, I am glad you are going to send me the sunday world, because it seems nice to see some news from home, you said in your letter that you were saving up to go to the Old Country and you asked me what I thought of it, well I cannot say that I favour the idea very much, because I know the conditions of the country, and I shall not advise anyone to leave Canada and come to England at the present time, it would be all right if a person had lots of money, just to have a look around. You ask me how I like being in the 75th it is almost like being in the 84th because they are nearly all 84th men, but not in the band, because there are only 5 84th men in the band, but still on the whole, they are a pretty decent bunch, I must just remind you now that when you write your letters, to address them through the c/o Army P.O. and mark them 11th brigade band, so there will be no difficulty, in getting my letters direct, (mark them 75th as well so to make sure, that I get them. you mention in your letter about the 124th probably being in England by the time I got your letter, well, jack gooch had a letter yesterday from jim rock to say that the 123rd, 124th, 125th were all in England and that he had seen Tommy and also spoken to him, you said in your letter that you were sending some Maple buds, well that would be a real treat because the chocolate we get here, is not up to much, and pretty dear at that,
well, I guess I will close my letter now so give my love to all and ta-ta for the present from you Loving Husband
