April 26, 1944. Dear Mom - I've had no mail for sometime, you last letter being Jan. 16. Five books sent off by C.P.O.W. from Diggons arrived ten days ago. Thank them for me. We get the odd good sun-bathing day but today is pretty raw[?]. The old westerly off the ocean whistles around here just the same as in Victoria. Sports are starting again but I haven't got the enthusiasm for them I need to have. Gerry McQueen's son is at this camp but in another lages[?]. A fellow from Nanaimo, George Fielding is in this barrack. Today is Anzac Day & the Aussies and Kiwis are playing rugby and visiting. I'm down to my last American food parcel in store but won't need them now winter is over. They sure helped a lot though and I really appreciate all the trouble you went to send them. Ganbery.. ho.. struck the camp, all except me. No [?] to m...[?]! Love, Syd.
