No 424447 45th Reinforcements Napier Barracks Shorncliffe Dear Sister I received your parcel the other night and also the letter. We are having some very bad weather down here just now, it has rained every day this week and there is quite a bit of mud around, I sent you a little parcel through the mail yesterday. it is a small locket I think that you said you would like, I hope it will suit you all right, as I am not very good at picking out a present, well Maggie might be anxious to get back from Canada as she is to go there after she has a year or two in the country, but I suppose it is every body for themself. they never know until they try, they might get a little more money but they have got to work for it. Well, I have not very much to say this time. I think I will be writing letters all after noon as I have about seven to write tell the youngest that I will be back to see them some time, hope this finds you all well as it leaves me fine I will send you a photo of myself along with this letter tell me what you think of it I don't like it at all. I remain Your loving brother Alex
