My Dear Mater,
Well we have had a little mail from Canada, this week & I have one from you & Nert, & two from Dad. Glad the parcel arrived O.K. & by now, you will have snaps O.K. as well.
I have been getting such good work with my big camera, that I thought I would try to get some good views of Pevensey Castle.
Yesterday was a nice lazy day, not too dull, so after dinner I took the wheel & went out. Just after I arrived, it started to rain a little, but I kept on trying to get a picture, I could not get far enough away tho, having a very narrow angle lens & had to give it up as a bad job. I started back against heavy wind and fairly hard rain & took an hour to make the six miles. Perhaps I was not soaked too. Had tea, a bath & went right to bed.
About 8.30, Corp Andrus came up & said one of the girls had come up with him, from town & wanted to see me. I got up & partly dressed & went down for half an hour & then back to bed. I sure had some day. In trying to get up on an old wall, I fell down, camera & all into a bunch of black berry bushes, with spikes on them, about a foot long. I am going to buy another lens & then will be able to get the picture I want, I hope.
Glad you have had some visits, & wish I had seen the Westervelts. I remember them well, when did he leave Dixons? I knew he had left, but I thought he returned to them again. They should be doing a big business now.
Sure is good how bus. keeps up there!
I am very lonely this week as my little girl returned to London last Saturday, but as usual will no doubt survive.
Am enclosing a couple of photos, will send prints later as at present, I can’t supply the demand here.
Lovingly,
Worth.
