Dear Bro. Bill : - Just a few lines to let you know I received your ever welcomed two letters, with dates Jan. 2nd and Jan. 12th, glad to hear that you are all well, as this leaves me the same. I have received parcel containing socks, strawberries and Etc. long ago. I told you about that in 6 different letters. I also got the Xmas parcel & box of Cascarets. I enjoyed the cake very much. The weather here is very cold, but the trenches are fine and dry, I want you to send me one bottle of Scotts Emulsion, I have such a fierce cold. I think there is nothing much better for a cold. I do not think this war will last much longer. They say the United- states have declared war on Germany, this came offically over the wire last night. No more for this time, Write soon. your Brother Wesley.

Olive wrote me a long letter, and told me all she was doing at school and at home, she is doing well, and that is all she is doing. Well! As I told you before, the weather is terribly cold, I bet you have not got it any colder out there. Billie! You say there must be mixed, horses and men yelling and bleeding out here. There are no cavalry changes our here where we are, therefore there are no horses, mules are what they use, in this country. I would tell you a lot about the war, if it were only allowed. Let me know if you got letter dated Jan. 7th also do not forget to send me the Scotts Emulsion remedy.

Answer soon, your loving

Brother, Wesley.
