Dear Brother William: - Dec. 10th 1916

Just a few lines in answer to your letter, and to let you know that I am still well, hoping you all the same, I have been neglecting you very badly this last while in answering your letters, but however I get a chance to answer them sometimes, I always send a field card after each letter. I receive, Well! I have been very lucky in getting through without any scratches, as so far, when you look at so many getting slaughtered. I suppose I have not told you yet about Vincent getting killed, that was a good while ago, Bob Ashcroft was in a Bombing – raid the other night and came out safe, I had a letter from Henry on the lot, and he says his leg is very painful at the knee and toe joints when he bends it, and they are massageing it every day, but never mind, that is alright so long as he gets home with it. I am going to get a pass home to Canada after the war. I am sending you the French money, but it is only taking chances. Good-bye Send me a box of Cascarets. Your Brother W. J.
