County Councillor’s Daughter Weds

Miss Violet Weir, daughter of County Councillor Colonel Ralph S. Weir and Mrs Weir, 3 Kylepark Crescent, was married in St. Bride’s Parish Church Bothwell, last Saturday to Mr William Bone, son of Mr and Mrs W. Bone, Shalloch Park, Girvan.

The Rev. T.K. Campbell, M.A., officiated, and Mr Ronald S. Calder, M.A., Mus. Bac., was at the organ.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was charming in a dress of white cloque with long train. Her veil of Brussels lace had been worn by her grandmother on her wedding day. Attending her were Miss Elspeth Baird, Cathcart, and Miss Winifred Bone, sister of the groom, the former favouring a blue and the latter a yellow dress. Mr Thomas Wilson, Girvan, was groomsman.

A company of about 70 attended the reception in Silvertrees Hotel, Bothwell. When the bride left with her husband, she wore a mustard yellow dress and jacket ensemble, with black accessories.

The young couple are to make their home at 40 Victory Park, Girvan.
