Dear Father:-

Well as I haven't wrote you a letter since I left it is with pleasure I sit down to write you these few lines to let you know I am well hoping you are all the same. We are having lovely weather over here now its very hot all day but turns just like the fall at night. I am going on furlough about the last of the week I am going to Edinborough, Scotland. They are making the men from 40 years now report for service. We are only about two miles from a small town called Haslemere.

I saw Henry Douglass that used to work with Col. Wood he came over here with the old 105th. Every thing is very dear over here eggs are over $1.00 per dozen and you will get about a dozen strawberries for 12 ch.

Well as news is scarce I guess I will close for this time. Write Soon and give me all the news.

Good Bye

Allan

I got Mamma's letter after I wrote this and was very glad to hear from you did they call Peter one million in yet and I suppose they well be taking Pere after a while.

As I have no news I can't write any more.

Good Bye.

Allan.
