Tues. July 24 -

Battery was moved to new waggon lines in Bully Grenay - mounted in column of route - guns, waggons etc. Gunners had to walk again. I walked every step of way - a considerable distance - some say 20 miles, but hardly that I think. We left about 9 a.m. and got there about 2 p.m. I was pretty well tuckered out. Guns 2 & 6 went to gun position in evening, also much ammunition. In evening, I took a walk thru Bully Grenay which has been shelled very little and still holds its civilians. Quite a place - pleasant streets and some large buildings. The gun position is most advanced of any, being only about 1400 yds from Hun front line. We are silent battery to open up after advances begins. It is about 4 miles from waggon lines.
