Holland
Sunday, Feb. 4/45

Dear Marg and Marie,–

Hello girls here I am again and still in dear old Holland, but right now not exactly in the lines. Since I last wrote you I have received two air mail forms from both of you. The mail has been coming in rather slowly lately. I have not yet received my Christmas parcel from Frances, I think perhaps it must have been destroyed when the train was bombed in Belgium. I think I have received all the rest. So grandpa is now a great grandfather eh. Our rest is finished and we have just returned from doing a bit of guard for the brass hats behind the lines. We are now stationed in civilian houses. I don't know for exactly how long. The people as usual are treating us extra good. There is a girl of 21 here in the house who has been trying to learn English and me Hollandsch so I am not enjoying the whole thing too badly at all.

I hope that you are both feeling fine and getting plenty of Champagne on hand because by the look of our friends on the eastern front you were going to need plenty of it soon. What do you think. I received a letter from Mum and Frances yesterday so it was a happy day for me. Remember the underground worker I spent my Christmas with, well I was up to see him during our rest again. He wanted me to live with he and his wife for the rest period. They are very nice people.

“So long”
Loving brother
Lloyd
