Dear Mother,
Well at last I have some pictures to send you, and I think they are pretty good. In the main building, under the flags, are four gable windows. My bed is at the second from the right. A jake place for a bomb to get at us all right. I have done pretty well with my camera, I think. I have more paper, paid for and coming, and a new lens, paid for and coming, and have on hand £ 2/5/-, and more coming to me. From the Irish negatives, I have sold prints for over 18/-, and have orders for about 5/- more from them now.
Haven’t they been giving it to London? They say people are leaving it in droves, and a good many of them, are coming down here to the South Coast. Some days only about half the scheduled trains get thro, as there after-noon raids some days, as well as evening.
That fruit cake is surely grand. I have not finished it yet, & it is very fresh yet. The drug sundries, came in handy too.
I have not much news, to-day, as I am staying in pretty much lately, it gets dark so early, that there is not much pleasure in going out, but I generally go down for a little while anyway.
Don’t know what can have happened to the Canadian mail, but there has not been any for some time, I had a letter from Mae Sturdy, dated Sept 1st, which is, I think, the latest mail I have had.
Poor Bobbie has had some time, the raids have been very close to where she lives, and I guess it is rather nerve racking.
I had two letters from Floss to-day, dated Sept 3rd & 15th, first I have had for a while as this mail is bad too.
I am anxiously waiting word from Nert., as to where she is, should surely get it this week.
Lovingly,
Worth.
