My Dear Mater.

I have three of your letters to answer, and very few minutes in which to do it, as I am Terribly busy again. My, but the months do slip around and of course I have the same returns To get out each month. I also have letters from Miriam, Nert. and Dad, but don’t know just when I will get them answered.

Suppose it appears to you, that Fritzie is getting a little too close to us for comfort, but I think he has quite as far as is healthy just now.

That card party stunt is a pretty good one, if it keeps up, how will they try to raise money next? The old metal idea is a better one.

Am very glad Nert was home for a while, surely wish I could have been there too, but cheer up, we will all get back some day.

Do hope Margaret is better and suffered no ill effects. Mrs. Charlie sent me a mighty fine Easter box as well as others I got. Your latest parcels have not arrived yet, but will likely be along in a day or two now. It is fine the way the mail is coming in.

I was much surprised to know that Nixon and McKinnon had been returned, but believe me I am glad, I don’t begrudge any one who has been here, their chance to get back. It is a good deal healthier over there than here, believe me.

O, yes, the syrup arrived O.K. and the honey one too. I have not eaten it yet, I got the one all right with tooth brush and powder but none with paste in.

Wish you would start a tracer for that first money order you sent. I have written London, but have had no reply.

Believe me Wilson is getting his men over here in some hurry and I don’t think Fritzie will make any headway in a hundred years.

I do hope I am able to get my pictures passed, they turned out jake and I will likely know in a day or two.

Yes, I saw where Fairs was missing but hoped he had turned up. He may yet. He was such a young kid too.

I am writing this in fits, between spasms of work. There is an evac. to Blighty in the morning and I am issuing for it now – 9.15 P.M. and have been on the job steadily since 7 A.M. Of course the first week in each month is always heavy for me.

I think putting the paper on parcels as you do, is as good as the cotton, seems to be O.K.

Don’t judge too much by the maps of the front, as you cant see what the ground contains. This is of much greater importance.
