Dear Mother and All,

Not very much to-night as I want to get to bed early. It is just 8 P.M. I have been out a good deal all week shows etc., and am tired.

I have had no mail from home, but one from E. [?], Berniece Ronson, Cousin Lexie, and a nice one from Georgie. She is married and has a son and her husband is a captain in France.

I am still at the same work, and getting along fine.

I suppose you have some excitement now that Wilson has taken the step. We have trouble getting news up here, except by the morning papers, and at present, we know no more than that relations have been broken. Also hear rumors of a naval engagement, but nothing official.

The civillians are being asked to live on very much reduced rations which will be really necessary in view of the new sub. policy. I don’t think it can last long now tho.

Well I think I will beat it to bed and will write more on Wed. by which time I should have some mail.
