Dear Friend, Brother William :-

Just a few lines to let you know I received your two letters dated April 6th and april 7th and very glad to hear from you, and that you are still in the same health and spirits. The next time you write Don’t put on your address. Somewhere in France, only put the above address. Now, dinner is ready and I will have to [?] for about 20 minutes, till I eat. So Jim Earnshaw is badly wounded. It is only about two weeks ago since I was talking to him. Well, how-ever he has been out here for quite a few months. What is Arthur Ashcroft doing now. Is he still in the home-guard. George, thought he might have joined the 94th. That Zam-buk ointment was certainly a great relief for my heel. It is almost heeled up now. I have been suffering with it for about two months. I think this is all for this time, so good-bye little man, and write me a letter soon.

With love, From Wesley.
